France’s ‘Atlantic appeal’

Property investors in France need to broaden their horizons a little, claims one expert...
The Mediterranean coast of France seems to get the most investor interest, but the Atlantic Coast is definitely worth looking into, says Les Calvert, director of Property-Abroad.com.
He said: “One area which has seen rapid growth is the Atlantic coast. Whilst I am sure that the new, faster Eurostar has certainly had an impact in people travelling to and buying property in France, the Atlantic coast in particular had been a recent area of major growth, stimulated by the arrival of new, low-cost airlines”
"Areas that tend to be showing more interest than previously are Aquitaine on the Atlantic coast. The Mediterranean coast has always been popular, but now the Atlantic coast is becoming more popular, similar to the way the Silver Coast had been growing recently in Portugal”.
Mr Calvert added: "You can get the same amount of sunshine but for half the price of the Mediterranean side. It's also just as quick to get there now because of increased flight routes and more knowledge about the area."
